Professional Suzuki Guitar Lessons

I received training to teach the Suzuki Method for Guitar and am a Registered Teacher with the Suzuki Association of the Americas. That means I know some really cool and fun ways to motivate kids to learn about music. I think Suzuki Guitar is the way to go for kids who are interested in playing. It teaches them how to practice and gives them a love for music that helps them stay motivated and into it their whole lives. I provide acoustic guitar lessons and electric guitar lessons.

Classical Guitar Lessons

My approach to teaching electric and acoustic steel string guitar is to encourage students of all ages to explore their favorite genres/bands and artists. It can be a challenge a find entry-level songs, but chord voices can be made easier for beginners. I teach students to play in rhythm as soon as they can smoothly change from one chord to another. I use a variety of method books, depending on my student's goals and learning styles. I teach improvisation skills and soloing. I teach scales, music theory, sight, and tab reading to all of my students. I also specialize in helping students to learn to accompany their own singing with a guitar. My finger style guitar lessons will aid you on your journey to becoming a master.

A Natural Instructor

I've been offering comprehensive and affordable private lessons in Naples  since 2002. My job is a passion for me, and it brings me joy to be able to share this passion with my students. From day one, they learn important foundational techniques to help them boost their skills and self-esteem. Each one has a unique learning style, and it’s my duty to find out what that is and adapt my lessons accordingly. Contact me today to learn how I can help you achieve your academic goals.

I have been playing guitar for 35 years.  I graduated with honors from the music program of College of Marin in California, majoring in guitar, voice and piano.  I hold a bachelor of arts in education from the Florida Gulf Coast University.  I have studied with numerous guitar teachers over the last 20 years, focusing on classical guitar, finger style, rock, folk, blues and jazz.  I teach students of all levels and ages. I am certified in the Suzuki  Classical Guitar Method up through book 4 and am pursuing on-going training in this method through summer institutes and private lessons.

I am beginning 7th year teaching guitar at the Village School Performing Arts Center, teaching children as young as 5 years old, the art of classical guitar as well as pop, folk and country.

About

Reviews

“My son and I started taking classical guitar lessons from Theo about 3 years ago.  He is a phenomenal teacher able to relate extremely well to kids to make it fun and keep them moving forward. My son left me in the dust within a year and has continued to excel. He is now very good at reading music which has helped him succeed at trumpet in middle school band.  Plus his confidence has grown from several opportunities to perform in public.  I give Theo the highest possible personal and professional recommendation and believe classical guitar to be a great joint activity for kids and parents (as long as the parent can keep up!).”
